I create intricate fantasy landscape drawings using pen, graphite, and colored pencil. My environments are constructed to serve the sexually repressed adults experiencing the freedom of new wealth from the sale of snake oil supplements or business software on the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. Backyard acreage is honed into Edenesque playgrounds that maximize sensorial pleasure and time is only relevant to the working class that service it. Spiritual experiences in these environments are forced into being through sensorial ecstasy, psychedelic drug use, magical thinking, and sleep deprivation. Decadent new religions are formed.

These drawings borrow from the structures of isometric role-play-gaming, Architectural Digest page spreads, sculpture gardens, and Mormon temple rituals. My visual style draws from the study of master printmakers, Persian Miniature Painting, Dungeons & Dragons manuals, Where’s Waldo, and indie comics.

Growing up in dusty and conservative Utah, my work reflects a longing to be anywhere else.
